Which cam do I need to get around 370-390hp?

I have 97 SS auto, its mods are long tube hooker with ory and flowmaster catback, pulley, 3.73. TB 52mm. It's for daily driver and street racing

My future mods are:
Converter (size not decided yet)
Cam???
Ported stock intake
Rebuild gear

the GM 847 with some VERY GOOD ported heads and a good valvetrain should get you there with a GOOD tune also.

I assume you are wanting 370-390 rwhp correct? If so you probably are gonna want ported heads. I believe the highest numbers on stock heads is 360ish. Getting a ported intake with out ported heads is kind of pointless.

this may sound retarded but can you port the heads while on the engine, i just did head gaskets and really dont want to pull em off again?

you have to pull the heads to port them, no if's ands or buts

370 rwhp is cake with ported heads. LE1 (LE2 for sure) package with a madz28 tune will put you right about there. Im sure youve heard this before, but the flowmaster is holding you back.
