how far can you port a stock throttle body?

just like the title says, whats the farthest you can port a stock throttle body? I'm thinking about doing a cam swap over Christmas, but I'm going to upgrade the injectors while I'm at it, so I figured I'll probably need to do the throttle body as well. I have access to any equipment I'd need, so the work of doing it isn't a problem, I just want to know where to stop. any suggestions?

52mm i believe. That is the biggest i've seen a stock ported one. I believe its not something just anyone can do. Probably the hardest part is getting new throttlebody blades made that fit right and don't leak or stick. A lot of people feel the 52mm tb is a waste of time too.

52mm....most companys CNC them out to 52mm. And no a 52mm is not a waste of money...Port fuel injected motors like more throttle body, and if you put a 58 on a stock car you will loose port velosity and low end drivability, and maybe gain one or two on the top end....

I don't think a Tb will effect port velocity. The port of the intake manifold is still small and will keep the velocity up. Thats like saying putting a bigger CAI on will drop port velocity.

Sweet, that definitely cuts down on total expenditures for this project

I really doubt you can go any more than 52mm. I've had a ported one before and it had a couple of holes where it reached the IAC passages...

I just sent one out to David Koldos to have it done. From the information
he sent me it sounds like it's opened up to 53mm. He does a lot of these
so I would imagine he knows what he is doing. Just my $.02
