How do you get it out? I unplugged it and used a socket on the only place that I saw, right over where its supposed to be plugged in. The problem is that the gold part just spins and it doesn't unscrew. Is there somewhere else to grab it from to remove it? I really need help with this as I need to drain the passenger side of the block, but can't get it out.

 

Sounds as if the sensor...."lost its crimp" the center should NOT spin.....you could try recrimping it with some channel locks and using the wrench again.....

....and if not....use the big **** water pump pliers and twist it out......sensor replaced when done of course...

 

Same thing happened with mine. Trashed it getting it out, so I replaced it with new.
