It's the gear looking thing right? I'm wondering how the timing chain will go on with that thing in the way...

For the double roller you need to take it out, I had to when I put in my comp cams double... that leads to a whole new problem, the crank hub is now too short.. and if you put it in without a spacer you will shave of one rib off your serpentine belt (ask me how I know this)...

I was upgrading to an ATI superdamper which is good for obd 1 or 2 and comes with a spacer to take up the space.. fluidamprs come with them too.. As to if you can get them anywhere else I don't know, but an obd1 hub will work instead and is cheaper..

96 WS6--you leave the ring out, use a gear puller to pull the crank gear, then replace it with you double roller crank gear.
did you finally get my PM?

hope this helps
Jesse

LOL yes i finally did thanks jesse. You've been a tremendous help in this double roller deal... so much **** to deal with just to use it, better be worth the trouble

So the gear puller doubles as a putter too? Or will I just have to force the crank gear on... Also, it is keyed correct? Will that give me any trouble or just line it up and slide it on? I could use some grease to help it since it is keyed right?

There seem to be 3 dots (a dot, a trianlge, and a square) - those are for advance and retard correct? I want to line it up dot to dot right? Or were those on the cam gear, I can't recall at the moment.

Sorry if the questions seem ignorant, I just don't want to regret not asking when my car is not running right (please let it run right God!).

the crank gear is keyed, it should slide a little ways on to the crank without trouble, i used a HUGE socket (32mm) to help me get it on make sure it lines up perfect with the cam gear.

also be sure to line it up (dot to dot) on the O (straight up setting).

just keep in mind you are now at #6 TDC when you go to adjust your valves.
