How do you clean your K & N Filter?

Buy a cleaning/re-oiling kit from the parts store. Follow the directions and make sure it's all soaked in before you reinstall it or you'll have big trouble.
Also, change your oil every 500 miles.

K&N makes a specific "cleaning kit" with a soapy spray to remove the dirt, and the correct red oil to reoil with. Since its a less than $10 item, I'd recommend you get the specific K&N kit. You might want to go to the K&N website and read their guidlines on cleaning. They recommend an interval as long as 50K miles in some cases. The filter can only be cleaned about 25 time IIRC before it loses its filtration capability, so you don't want to clean it too often.

I switched to Holley Power Shot: wonder if the K&N clean and oil kit can be used. I would think so, since they are both made of gauze. I like the red better than the blue anyway.

You will have to check with Holley. I switched to the Holley on my 97SS becuase the pleats run vertical rather than horizontal. The K & N (jeep) filter with its horizontal pleats is suseptable to folding off the scam air box like an accordion whereas the Holley remains rigid. Price wise you will have to check it out.
