How do these mods sound?

This summer I am planning to mod my car a whole lot more. So far, all I have is a Flowmaster and FIPK. I've been thinking and so far, these are a few of the items I would like to purchase. Let me know what you think and if it would be good or not.

Headers(Preferably SLP or Hooker)
160 Degree Thermostat(SLP or Hypertech)
JET IAT relocation kit
JET Fan Switch
Holley 52mm TB
Air Foil
G2 Aluminum Driveshaft
Motive 3.73's

Tell me what you think or give me any suggestions. Thanks.

That's fine but don't plan on HUGE gains from those mods.

Headers are a great idea....long tubes if you can get away with it. I wouldn't spend your money on the TB just yet. Gears are great....doesn't say if you have an A4 or M6 in your sig...if it's an A4 look into getting a higher stall.

Air foil.....eh....there's mixed feelings.

Aluminum D/S....sure it's lighter but you may want to look into suspension before getting things that you can always get later.

IMO get headers, gears, torque converter if you have an auto, do some free mods, heads if you can afford them, cam, roller rockers and if you're feeling frisky throw a nice little shot on there to boot.

Just remember, modding is a process and not an event....it'll all come in time and pretty soon you'll be selling body fluids to keep up with your new found addiction.

True. Yeah, it's an A4. I forgot all about a higher stall. That was another thing I was looking at. All I know is that headers are the very next thing I will do, no matter what. 3.73's should be best for an A4, right? I want to have a fast car, but I still need it as a daily driver. That's why I can't go too wild on my car just yet. The reason I was looking into the driveshaft was because I read that it was a good idea once you installed 3.73's. I would also like the LT4 Hotcam kit, but I might have to wait a little while before I can do that. Heads are out of the question though, just not enough money. Thanks for the help.

i agree, pass on the TB for now, skip the fan mod and IAC.
i would also suggest doing a LPE driveshaft (lingenfelter) if u are going to do one at all. it is 3 1/2" for $300 and it can stand up to a lot of power.
if i were u, i would do a nice stall (3,00-3,400), 3.73's,and headers. u can also do the airfoil, TB bypass(free), and some LCA's. that combo should be good for low 13's/high 12's with some decently sticky tires.

Screw the TB and drivehaft. Go with some suspension and headers....I got LCAs, SFCs and a PHB waiting to be installed in a week and I can't wait because I heard it's like driving a new car when you stiffen up our suspension.....

I say forget any suspension mods until you hit mid 12's. I've ran 12.82 with a completely stock LT1 and stock suspension. My 60 ft. times were always in the 1.7X range with 4.10 gears, 3200 stall, and 26" ET Streets. All other mods are in my sig.

I had a generic Hypertech chip, a 180 degree thermostat, no cutout on Flowmaster exhaust , and no throttle body water bypass.

Definately...Gears, and stall

As everyone else has said. The TB would be a waste of money right now until you do a cam or something like that. I think the air foil is a waste of money. Dont get me wrong, I have one but I only paid $20 for it. Do the Headers, gears, cai, and stall. I noticed you said you had a Flowmaster. Is that just the muffler or the whole cat back system? If its just the muffler ditch that thing and purchase a good catback system when you do your headers.
With those mods you should be doing ok.

I would do...

1. stall convertor with tranny cooler
2. gears (3.73 is fine, i would do 3.23 or 3.42)
3. TIRES (get something good back there) Nittos or BFG DR's
4. Tune it

after that and you get more money...

headers, Suspension stuff ( LCA, STB, SFC, etc)
