How Do I get this last spark plug in!?!?!
i literally just got done changing my plugs and wires. I didn't have to take the y-pipe out to do number 8 plug. Granted it was a pain in the ***, but with a swivel head it can be done.
Forgot to add, do it from underneath the car.

I did mine a couple of months ago. I did the entire drivers side from under the car, and did the entire passenger side from above.
That last spark plug on the passenger side probably gave me the most scratches on my hand. I think what I used was a socket w/ no swivel head. you have to pretty much LAY on your car. Helps if your car is in the air. then balance yourself with your left hand, and take your right hand, and just cram it back there. Your hand is going to have to travel underneath, between, and beside all those hoses and wires. Once your hand gets pass those, its pretty easy to get to from up top. Your elbow will probably be engulfed, but at least you can reach it. I tried from the bottom, but my hands were too big.
hope i could help.

Well I have been trying to do it from the top as of now. I can get my hand in their with ease, but the problem I am having trouble with is what tools to use to get it right. I tried with the ratchet itself, no luck because the manifold or the oil dip stick is in the way. I tried with an extendor, no good it is to big to fit in their. Last and least I tried with a funky thing that lets you move the rathet around left and right, i think it is a swivel. I can not get any force applied to the swivel to move it. The swivel is the wierd extension thing that moves around up and down left and right???
I've had the best luck by removing the starter and getting it from underneath. I have Hooker LT's BTW and it makes things a little easier. I also have an "O Ratchet" which is a socket ratchet with a hole cut through the middle of it so I need very little clearance. You could also cut down a socket and turn it with an open end wrench.
maybe i am crazy but i believe that one is one of the easier ones to get to. I just went in throught the bottom no problem. I only did the plugs once before i got headers and that was a long time ago.
I use the cut off spark plug socket that SLP sells and a 3/4 in gear wrench. Go at it from over the top from the passenger side . You have to make like a monkey and climb up on the engine . The cut off plug socket an gear wrench combo work like a charm .....I can do all the plugs in 45min.
Brez: It really depends on what they are going to do for the $800.00.
GM recommends certain things be done at certain intervals, like most manufacturers.
However, most of what they do is inspect and change as required (or not required).
Get a list of what they do and figure out the things you can check and fix.
Examples: Belts, hoses, plugs, plug wires, filters, etc.
If the injectors are working ok, then why pay to have them cleaned?
I.e., if it ain't broke...
Bottom line, I believe you are going to get screwed paying that kind of money for what they actually do.
It will cost enough when you actually have to have a pro do the work.
Get their list, a manual, and get your hands dirty.JMHO
