How do I get 330-350rwhp cheap?? Cam, headers??

Just brought car. It has gutted cat, flowmaster muffler, CAI, TB bypass.
I assume it makes 270rwhp about now (M6).
After reading forum it appears ASM or MAC's might get me to 300rwhp. Can't go long tube because of clearance and car is for road racing and is lowered already.
So which of ASM or MAC's??
Also will cam gain power or is it better to just replace heads??
The class (American Iron) is all RWHP to weight ratio so more torque is key.
Don't want to do full head and cam and dump lot's into car.
Any advice would be welcome.

id go with the as&m's i have the macs myself, just couldnt cough up the extra$$ for the others. those + a decent top end package "should" get you where you want to be. if i recall correctly, im pretty sure ive seen people dyno in the 330 rwhp range with even the hotcam kit, which is nice for the $$$ (that again). decent cam, upgraded springs, rr's, tuning, headers, "should" get you where you want good luck hth

Being a 6 speed, the Comp XE 224-230 would work well also. Combination Motorsports was offering a KIT with that cam, private label springs, retainers, locks AND Roller Rockers for about $100 more than the HOT CAM KIT.

The HOT CAM springs are JUNK and if you EVER go ANY larger you would need to change springs since they "barely" work with the HOT CAM. The CMotorsports stuff is alot better than that and you are getting a better cam as well.

If you are on a budget, ya might think about it.

Go with the AZ's. They're awesome, and the quality is incredible.

There are a ton of other header options out there. For the price I would suggest Hooker shorties. 350rwhp will need head work to get there.

Bolt ons and a semi-large cam should see 350+ on stock heads/M6, if you can tune it.

As long as you have the right tune in your car with the right cam, you should be able to push 350 to the wheels. I got the 224/230 from cmotorsports and I love it. It makes great power up to 6200 rpm. My buddy has the Hot cam, and when we raced I beat him pretty good. We both have similar setups, and both on stock heads.

How much are the cam kit's??
So good headers and cam should get me at least low 320's and up it sounds like.

You wont make 350 RW on stock heads without a good sized cam. If you have to smog then that will be a problem.

Richmond Virginia? Richmond California?

VA. so no emissions at all.
I assume the cam kits need springs, retainers, and better pushords with them. My car has 104k miles so timing chain probably should change also.
I guess is all that work and time (I am guessing $1,500) probably for parts and install worth it??
Is my $1,500 about right??
So figure $3k for both asm headers and a xe 224/230 cam and springs, timing chain installed??
Looking on site that should make about 330rwhp and 340trq??
Do all these assumptions sound about right??

If you're going to do all that @ 100K miles you better freshen the motor up with new bearings and rod bolts. Destroying the block could end up very expensive. Then all that work would be in vain. Save your money and do it right.
