How did you get the crank hub back on???
I'm looking right now for longer bolt to pull the crank hub back up on the crank snout, but i've been everywhere including Lowe's hardware and can't find one long enough. i'm sure someone on this forum has taken thier's off doing a rebuild or something. How did you get it back on? where did you find the bolt, or that special hub installer tool!?
This is not the best way to do it....but I used the hub bolt to pull the hub in. Had to do what I was forced with since I live in a small town. Thank God it didn't snap. I was sweating it all the way through.
This is what I used. 7/16x20 threaded rod if I remember right.

I got the grade 8 threaded rod at a nut and bolts supply house. Look for them in the industrial part of town.

hey poorman, think you could mail me one of those 7/16-20 rods you found? cuz i can't find one, Lowes didn't even have one, i went back to look. I think i'm gonna have to resort to deep meditation and mental powers to get this hub back on.
Napa carries the rod. Either way DO NOT USE THE BOLT TO PULL IT ON. I broke mine off in the crank, and NO way to get it back out (tried welding etc). Running around without a crank bolt on mine for awhile now.
