I'm still wondering about the RTV. Do I use the high-temp orange stuff on both sides of the header and collector gaskets?
Re: how did you do your headers?
i have felpro gaskets, and i didnt use any RTV...
my bolts kept getting loose and with the turbo i kept blowing header gaskets tho...
once all my bolts are tight tho, even with a turbo, gaskets are not leaking as long as the bolts are in there.... (actually i just blew a gasket recently, cuz another bolt got loose lol)

Re: how did you do your headers?
I did not use any RTV on the header gaskets myself. I did some searches on the subject, and it seemed like some do and some don't. If you are using Fel-Pro gaskets, you shouldn't have a problem, just make sure you tighten (and re-tighten, if necessary) the snot out of the bolts. My exhaust leak was caused by the bolts around the #4 and #6 primaries being slightly loose.
I read about a spray-on version of the ultra-copper that sounded like it would be less messy, but with sliding the gasket between the header and the head, and then lining up the individual bolt holes, regular RTV would have been a nasty mess, so I didn't bother. Hopefully it will hold up.
