how to determine what rearend you have??
how to determine what rearend you have??
i have a 1995 z28 M6 and i am not sure what rear i have. i know i have the 3.42's and i know some came with the auburn rear ends. does anyone know what the option # or code was for the auburn rears?? all of the codes are posted on the inside of the glovebox but i don't know what they all mean. thanks

I went by the MPH to find out my gear ratio, but it looks easier to use the Calculated Gear Ratio equation. Watch your tach in 6th gear (last gear is the easiest and most accurate) and find out what speed you are going at like 2000RPMs (doesn't matter as long as you know what speed you are going at what RPM in whatever gear). find out what your tire radius is. Enter all 3 numbers to get you tranny+rearend gear. Times it by the gear ratio of the tranny gear you were using and you have your rear end gear ratio figured out.
