I'm going to figure out why my car only runs 14.086 at sea level. I have a really bad high miss sometimes......from 5000-5800 is almost non existant--think it might be the opti........i don't know if it's ever been changed 128,000miles......should i just change it?

Vacuum gauge should be T'd into one of the vacuum lines, close to the intake manifold. A stock motor will pull about 19" of vacuum at idle.

I don't think an intake leak would be the cause of your car not pulling above 5K RPMs. I'd check your spark plugs/wires - look under your hood in the dark when the engine is running and look for arcing from the wires to the block.

If your car is stock, 14.0 in the 1/4 is pretty normal.

I know the vacum leak isn't the high miss prob.....i'm pretty sure it's the opti--cause the car harder to start now. The car is not stock mods are in sig. But I wonder how bad the opti is hurting performance in the low range......it feels fine......but then again maybe i'm just use to a worn out opti? How much 1/4 time do you think i will drop after i replace the opti? will i be running about right for the mods?

The only power adders you have is headers/cat back. High 13's is probably the best you'll do. The opti doesn't add any power, maybe "replace" replace lost power if that's your problem. I'd suggest you go to Shoebox's webpage and use his procedures to check your opti signals.
