How to check if injectors are firing?
How to check if injectors are firing?
I know they have power, however how can I go one by one to the injectors to make sure the pcm is grounding all of them? I need to test the grounds and make sure my wiring is still intact and the pcm can send the grounds to fire them. Thanks.
Re: How to check if injectors are firing?
The injectors make a clicking sound when they fire and you may also feel them "click". An automotive stethoscope would be a good tool to isolate the clicking one by one if you can't feel them click.

I like this noid light http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_detail.cfm?detail=379
Cause you can see it if you have to crank the car from the drivers seat. It has a long cord and a suction cup to stick it to the windshield. My snap-on guy carries it for about $28.00.
By the way, if you had a wiring issue to the injectors, more than likely your 95 LT1 would have a code. The PCM will not turn the SES light on but will set a DTC for an open circuit, short circuit to voltage or ground, and an injector with low resistance, shorted or open. Obviously you would need to scan it to see it. The driver in that case is disabled.
The PCM will not know if you have the wires crossed from the wrong injector however. But then neither would you even with a noid light. There are numbers on the connectors however. Obviously you would feel it running bad if you had 2 connectors crossed.
