how to change pass side o2?

ok........before i goto the PITA task of dropping the stock y-pipe.............is there an easier way to replace the passnger o2 sensor?

i cannot fit my arm or wrench in from the top, even if i remove the alt.

i have factory ypipe and manifolds.

i do not have the special o2 socket, and have no ride to go get one.

looks like my only choice is dropping the y-pipe, unless someone knows a better way.

i sprayed some stuff on the bolts to loosen them........now im waiting a few hours to give them a try.

same thing happened to me. could NOT get it loose if my life depended on it!! i ended up dropping the y-pipe. took maybe an extra 20 min. but def. made the job a LOT easier!! once the pipe is down, the o2 is right there. just make sure you spray the bolts for the y-pipe too if u decide do drop it! good luck!

oh and if you can somehow get a hold of a o2 socket, it makes the job 100X's easier!!!

well im waiting for the penetrating oil to loosen up the y-pipe bolts.........then see if i can get that ****er off..........it looks like it will be really hard to reach/turn the bolts on the passnger side header/ypipe meeting

hey if i remember correctly... take out the starter!!!! its only 2 bolts, and it frees up TONS of space. that way you can reach the bolts! trust me i know, i just removed the y-pipe to install my hooker lt's this weekend! now i dont have to worry about the rusty thing anymore!! but be careful not to snap any of the bolts!

well, i amazingly was able to remove the ypipe without breaking anything..................damn those bolts were stubborn.

anyway.......put everything back together.........how tight do i have to get those ypipe-to-header bolts...........there really isnt much room to get good leverage.

My Y-Pipe was easy to drop.

All I did was spray it with PB Blaster from NAPA (which prolly did the trick) and then I used that electric impact gun (the one everyone calls a joke) which is originally intended to be used to do lugnuts, you can put on standard sockets and that dropped my Y-Pipe real quick!
