How to change the oil sending unit???

I just purchased a 95 B4C camaro and have a few questions. I used to own a 96 ss and sold it (stupid me). I am having my oil gauge on the dash dancing around. initial start up is fine but when car warms up or stop hard it drops to 0 and the light turns on. I read that it's usually the sending unit. I already had my long tubes and true duals installed. Also going to be doing the cap and rotor install as well as the blaster coil. Maybe this is why I sold it in the first place lol

Also the heater is not blowing hot. Any of you guys have problems like this? The heater core seems fine since the cab is dry. So I just purchased the heater valve (15 bucks) and I hope that fixes it. If not while I install the cap I will do the core flush. Any help will be appreciated.

Buy an oil pressure sensor socket and approach the sensor along the firewall from the direction of the brake booster. A ratchet and extension should get you in there.

What heater valve? 4th gens have a restrictor inline but no heater valve. Flushing the core should restore your heat.

BTW, what is a "brc"??

It's called a B4C-not brc (and police interceptor is a Ford name). A B4C is mostly a debadged Z28. GM calls it a "Special Service Package".

I guess they do call it a temperature valve (most people call it a mix door). It's not usually something that causes a problem. I thought you were referring to something on the heater hoses. Many other cars use a valve on there to control coolant flow to the heater core. 4th gens don't.

It sounds like the pick up tube fell off the oil pump.

that would be something I may want to look at. I will go ahead and drain the oil since it is due and check it out. My thing is that it doesnt mark that low of pressure during start ups.
