The "LTCC" setup uses the 8 LS1-style coils:

Both these systems still require the optical sensor signals from the Optispark.

The LTCC is more expensive than the Delteq, but I think it looks better if it's done right. I like the way mine looks, and everyone always does a double take when I pop the hood.

HaHa... if I had to pick one of the coil systems I would go with the delteq because they are working on a full replacement for the opti. Of course it might be a universal type signal that the LTCC could pick up also. If that was the case then I would go with the LTCC for two reasons 1. I like the idea of one coil for each cylinder and 2. I think i looks better. 97WS6SCharged
you have a great looking set up one of the best I have seen. Did you make the mounting plates yopurself? or did you buy them?

Re: How Can I Get Rid Of My Opti?

i dunno about looks, my delteq has a 4-coil pack sitting on my drivers side valve cover that looks pretty cool. i think the ltcc looks a little more confused and scattered like the back of a computer desk. the delteq seems to be easier to install too, as ive heard of problems with the ltcc. i dont know what 8 ls1 coils cost, but a northstar coilpack is about 140 last time i checked. the delteq system comes with mounting plates.

Re: How Can I Get Rid Of My Opti?

I paid $150 shipped for my 8 coils from a board member. They aren't really hard to find these days. As for the brackets, they are from Mallory Billet Alunminum.

Lighten up man it's just a joke. I almost bought an LT1 but got a good deal on my 99. Glad you got your question settled.
