How can I get to 350 rwhp

Just like it says up top I want my car to be putting down 350rwhp or more, I have a 1997 Z28 and all I have done to it is CAI and Cat Back, Im getting a good tax return this year and its going into my car....what is the cheapest way to get there without using NOS? what do you guys recommend and where are some good places to get the parts pretty cheap?

Big cam with stock heads.

Big cam with poorly ported heads.

Small cam with ported heads. (best way for a 350rwhp LT1 car)

Small cam, stock heads, every bolt on and true duals. with bullet mufflers.

Pick one

Well, I've come pretty close, but still 7 hp shy with the hotcam and stock heads. Rest of the mods in the sig. I'm thinking pullies and an Elec WP will get me there.

I'll second that.

well ported heads and a matching cam has netted more then 350rwhp on plenty of other people's cars. Thats pending a good tune and supporting bolt-ons are present.

With some good heads and the XE 218/224 or crane 210/224 You would have one hell of a street car. Awesome low end for driving around town, but it would scream everywhere through the power band.

My recomendation is advanced induction or TPiS ported stock castings, and the XE 218/224 or crane 210/224.

You will find that most people here will say go as big as possible with the cam, but you can get a better power band with a smaller cam, and end up faster anyway.

Well, I'm not sure about RWHP, because it's never been on a dyno. If there's anyone that would like to try a conversion to guess my HP figures, it weighs 3448#, runs 12.0 @ 112 MPH.

That's with a "tiny" CC305, and a set of good ported LT1 heads.

horsepower calculation

To 12scndz According to the formula for e.t. your making 394 rwhp
with your listed weight. According to the mph formula your making 378 rwhp. Not bad what kind of upgrades you running?

You can't really base rwhp from ET. Given his 112 mph trap speed through an auto, he's probably right around 350 rwhp or so. You can see what I run in my sig with 335 rwhp.

my 97 TA made 348 rwhp a few years ago with the 305 cam and every bolt-on without ever taking the heads off the car. the key is tuning...
