How Can I find out what size Gears I have in my Rear End Differential?

Hi Guys!

How Can I find out what size gears in the Rear End Differential ?

My car is a 1997 Z28 with Automatic Transmission.

Look in your glove compartment. They have some codes listed. GU2 = 2.73 and GU5= 3.23. Another way is to look at your shifter. If you have a visible 1 on your gear selector you have 3.23. If not then it's 2.73.

You can also spin you wheel for one full turn and count how many times your driveshaft turned. If it did 3.23 turns, your gears are 3.23

where your shifter is if it says:

OD - D - 2 - 1 then you have 3.23 gears

if it has no " 1 " then its 2.73

also check the glove box for gu2 or gu5
