What a shame to have someone put hood pins in it. That particular color is very rare in 96 if it is in fact an SS. SLP is the way to go with them checking the VIN. They have all the info.

I've seen '96 SS's in that color. They seem pretty rare. Neat color.

Hoodpins on a Camaro is like rubber on a tire... it's something that's supposed to be. I don't get the big deal? like 50% of the people on this site probably have hoodpins.

I just cant understand why you would want to cut up a rare car, even more rare if that was a color option cause I never seen one that color. It's just not the same as someone who has a collector and never drives it, that to me is wrong. Anyway...

like said before look for the wu8 on the options code sticker, you will also have a SLPENG sticker on your drivers side door and one on the fan shroud, if its still there, your airbox will also say Z28/SS, not all SS's in the LT1 years have a dash plaque.

Nah, I think the typo was that it meant to say 0.5% of people on this site have hoodpins. There is no way even 1 in 20 people would put that on their car, especially if they have an SLP car.

Hoodpins are designed (go figure) to hold hoods on. These days, we have latches and safety's built in to the hood, hence, there is no need for hoodpins unless you are running an aftermarket hood and even with an aftermarket hood, most of the higher quality manufacturers design the hood to function with factory brackets and hood latches so pins aren't necessary.

I'd say a better analogy would be hoodpins on camaros are like 14 x 10" rear rims with 295/60 pep boys street radials on muscle cars, they make the rear end stick up in the air but only appear functional, don't help the car hook any better.

Well I like my hood pins. They work and they give the ride the official Muscle car look. Even though I have an after market hood... I threw that locking latch crap out... my Hood pins are my locks. 100% functional.

Don't see why allot of guys on this site are so Anti this Anti that. Nothing fun about a plane jane car... about 500,000 other americans probably own. Don't be affraid to customize. Besides they look cool.

Hey man, I was probably a little rude in my last post. You're right about having a unique car. If you like the hood pins, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

All in good fun.

Whenever I don't end up with a car I think I want, I always say that it wasn't meant to be. Can't think of a time where I did not end up with a better deal somewhere else.
