How is this cam in 383LT1 with Nitrous
How is this cam in 383LT1 with Nitrous
I am looking to swap from my cc306 to this cam and wounder if it will work good with nitrous!! 150-250HP.
I know I will have to run electric water pump and while at it will put double roller timing set CLO-9-3157 since CLO-9-3145 is back order at Summit.
Is 3157 the same as 3145? Any issue with fitment?
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 248 int./254 exh.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.562 int./0.580 exh. lift
Lobe Separation (degrees): 110
I have a mail order tune for cc306 from pcmforless. Will this cam swap require a new tune?
I have TH350 and 4.88 rear gear. It's a sand drag Jeep

the cam will work with nitrous but you wont see as good as gain as you would with a cam on a higher lsa. also, your mail order tune will run this cam but you really should have it retuned. i would NOT spray your motor until you get it retuned with that cam and for the nitrous.

If ya had a 383+ I would go bigger and make the swap count.
Ya need to figure your DCR and see if it is staying above 8.5 or ya will be leaving some HP on the table. The bigger the cam the more it goes down and ya may be hurting yourself with a bigger cam.If ya are on pump gas it needs to be 9.0 or below. If ya already have enough static compression to be on fuel ya need to check to see if ya need to back up on octane.your DCR at this point can be 10-11-- just your octane may change, the least ya can get by with, the better it will run.
