That would be more like trying to build a pencil

If I remember correctly, the heads are 1/4 NPT. 2 right angle fittings and the braided line you spoke of should do it.

But isn't getting the pieces and then building this thing kinda like trying to build a pencil. These things are a dime a dozen at junk yards.

Or you can buy one from gmpartsdirect.com

1993-94 10108635 - $46.57
1995-97 12556260 - $78.00

Not sure what the difference is between the two, other than the price of course.

I used Comp Cams Beehive Springs pn 26918-16, Comp Cams Spring locators pn 4705-16, Comp Cams 11/32 10 Degree Machine Steel Locks pn 614-16 and Comp Cams 10 degree Steel Retainer pn 795-16. These are the recommended springs for this cam by Comp.
You will find that there is a lot of controversy surrounding the Comp Beehive springs on this board, I returned my original set to Comp & they sent me another set for free (that was a little over year ago) and I feel they have worked out all the problems they were having with them since. I've had no problems with them, and I've also read here that PAC springs are an excellent alternative. I used GMPP 5/16” Guide plates pn NAL-14011051. I used Comp Cams 1.6 full roller rockers.

Check out these springs and rockers:

They both were recommended to me by Lloyd Elliot and I have not had a problem out of them. The springs and rockers are much cheaper (Only in price not quality IMO) and the rockers are quieter than the comp pro mags I had.

Since the arms you're looking at at 7/16" you'll need to replace your stock rocker studs with 7/16" versions. ARPs are my recommendation.

They're easy to swap and are a direct replacement. Torque the new ones to 50#.

I think these are the same Roller Rocker Arms 3/8" except in the 3/8" Size

96 z 28 is correct but I highly recommend upgrading your rocker arm studs even if they are 3/8 instead of 7/16. I don't know how old your stock ones are but I know they are not really made to hold the load of the new spring and rocker. I would suggest some arp 3/8 or 7/16 but I would go with the 7/16 to be worry free. If you go 7/16 you need 7/16 rockers. It is not really that much more ($40.00). And DO NOT forget the guideplates and new chromoly pushrods (Stock pushrods will not work. I recommend GM guideplates (Comp does not line up properly) and you can get them for $40.00 and I recommend Trick Flow chromoly pushrods and you can get these for $87.00 with just about any size needed and these prices are from Summit.

Hi Folks,

I'm not a moderator and really don't have any right to say this but I'd like to recommend that we keep to one subject per thread. It makes it easier to search the archives for those of us that actually use the search function. The two subjects in this thread are both valid and each could support it's own thread.

Just my opinion, of course, and feel free to flame me if you like....

Exactly what I've been thinking as this thing grew a second head.
