How bent is bent?

So I'm trying to check for bent push rods. I was laying them on our kitchen counter and rolling them, then looking for excessive amounts of light coming from under them. But they all seem to have a little unevenness. If I look in the hole on one end I can clearly see out the other however, does this mean they're ok?

I agree that replacements are cheap enough that you shoul;d just do that.
That said most countertops are just plastic laminate over particle board, not precisely flat by any means and particle board moves with the weather(humidity).
You would be better off with a thick piece of glass or something else straight and rigid.

The comp Hi-Techs are one of the best......many guys don't seem to understand that there's a HUGE difference in a 30 dollar set of "Cheaply" hardened pushrods, and a GOOD set (like the Hi-techs) that have been designed to have minimum harmonics and awesome strength, and a "REAL" hardening process.. (summit racing has some decent prices on them).........Joe
