How bad will this run?

I have a fresh 383 stroker with only mildly ported heads (stage 1) and a hotcam kit. Problem is I want to get the car running first or I never will. I will have the pcm programmed and will be running a 58mm TB (i know its not needed) and full bolt ons. Once the car is running meaning I successfully turn this roller in to a driver which I have never done before the first thing I want to do is go LE3 setup.

Will this car still run properly without having the flow the 383 is going to want?

Tranny is a th400 / vigi 3400

Please advise.

Thanks!

Who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised. As long as everything is right, and the car has no gremlins. Good luck.

TQ monster, but as stated its top end will not reach its potential.

What compression ratio are you shooting for?

what he said. but get used to being known as the guy that says he has a 383 that is barely faster than full bolt on and stalled lt1's.

you need heads and new cam to see the what that set up can do as well as a good tune.

I have a 388 stroker, mine runs fine without a tune, it has Custom Ported/Polished (Heads, Intake, TB) with stock injectors and a cc468 cam and has everything else you can think of but it still runs, has a **** load of torque and some great top end but you car will run but it will have alot of torque. Mine has alot of torque, i need to upgrade my valves and probably find the best flowing heads as well as a TB and finally get a tune to get the power I want out of it. Building the stroker is expensive so if your gonna do it you better do it right.

even if you did have all you need it still takes time to get it all right....so just go with it, It won't make all it can but I think you will be happy with a lil time and after you have a few pissed off late nights, you will finnally get it rite

Thanks for the comments. I realise the car won't be near its potential without good heads and cam. The thing is I really want to get this car atleast together or it will become some abandoned project you see for sell all the time because people give up.

Anyway...Once it is together and running I will purchase a nice set of heads and such. The real project for me right now is getting the car together and turned over. That in its self will be a huge accomplishment for me.
