How bad are DR's gonna be on my stock rear end?

Im gonna get some 245/50 r16 nittos this spring and was wondering how much of a stress they are gonna cause on my stock rear. My car is an auto so that might help a little. Are there any cheap upgrades i can do to my rear to help relieve the strain on it?

Thanks for the info, but could i need a little more specific parts, such as what springs or shocks to use.

um i think suspention upgrades would be worse for your rear.

You should tell us what if any mods you have on your car. If it is mostly stock iwouldnt worry about the rear but if you are pushing 400 hp then it is time to look for a 12 bolt or ford 9"

Well, you will probably want to get a better torque arm (maybe adjustable), better lower control arms, and subframe connectors would probably help as well. BMR is a company that makes really good stuff at a very good price. Personally though, I don't like weld-in items, so in that case, you might want to look for different companies for the subframe connectors. The only two that I know of are SLP and Competition Engineering. I went with the Comps(much better price).

If your not making serious power I really wouldn't worry about it. I'm running the times below with a 4L60E and 10-bolt. Best 60ft. so far of 1.55 on ET Drags. I only had to change 1 gearset in 3 years. Autos are much easier on the rearend.

You could always put a girdle on your 10 bolt to try to help a little. But as mentioned above, I think you'll be fine till around the 400rwhp range. Then it might be time to think 12 bolt.
