Do I need the complete hotcam kit if I already have the crane 1.6 rollerockers with the heavyduty springs. I want to put this cam in but I don't think I need the whole kit. If I don't need the kit were can I get the cam the cheapest. Also should I change my lifters I have 64000 miles on the car.

the cam would be all you need. Why not step it up a bit if you dont need to buy the kit. You can get a different cam for the same price. And changing the lifters wouldnt hurt, but if they look good resuing them wouldnt hurt either.

 

Its going to be about the same price where ever you go +-10 bucks
If your springs can handle .525 then theyll be good

your lifters are the same ones used in ALL 1,293,798,654 caprice taxi cabs that dont get a rebuild untill about 400,000 miles...go another 2 then there sold at public autions and go probly 2 more (if the body doesnt fall apart lol)

64,000 isnt breaking a sweat

 

What cam do you reccommend. I'm not doing any head work just yet. I was looking also at the 305 from comp cams. I have every bolton with longtubes and I'm knocking on the 12sec zone all motor so I think the cam will give my what I want.

Go with a little bigger cam. Comp 224. I wouldnt replace the lifters as long as they arent damaged.

 

Hey jcolez28 do you have any head work. I see in your sig that you have the hotcam. what do you run and what is the lift on the 224 comp cam. Thanks for the info. I'm on a tight budget so price comes into play big time. I just spent 1400 on FLP headerrs and electric water pump and plugs and otvc wires.
