hotcam people in here (shift point for hotcam?)

can't find any thing in the search about the power band of the hot cam , or what rpm it should make peak hp,tq or best shift point. I know heads , exaust, flow will play a factor in it, can anyone help?

GM says the HotCam works the best between 3000-6500rpm. I have the hotcam, and I would say that is true. My car doesn't have a lot going under 2500 rpm, but after 2500rpm, better hold on. I would recommend shifting at about 6000-6100 rpm.

I had mine shifting at 6000 rpm but didn't like it. Now I have it at 6400 rpms. Don't know if it helped at the track but I like it.....

mines at 6500. Ed wright told me this too.
I have stock heads and a A4 with a vigilante and mine put down
329rwhp. I agree, below 2500 if you don't have a stall or the right gears it's lacking. When I had 4.10's and no vigilante the car ran even better.

I think you should shift at 7500rpm, and if anything happens (how likely is that.....), you should sell me those heads and the cam for really cheap.

I don't think I can do that.....

I have my shift point set at 6200rpm, and 2-3 set at 6400rpm..is that too high??

With that cam and the heads, I would say that is about right. You don't want to push our good old 2-bolt main blocks too much.
