Hotcam or 305 I searched

I was searching for over an hour and still didn't find what I was looking for. I was wondering what kind of power gains over the stock cam either of these would give. I'm talking rwhp on an auto full exhaust/cai car. I'm looking for a smaller cam that won't have to be reved past 6k and give at least 20rwhp. Thanks!

Either of those cams should give you a 20 horse increase at the wheels and both are very streetable as well. The CC305 will have the upper hand though.

Well after doing some research again it seems that the 305 is harder on the vavletrain. Is this correct? What rpm should I be spinning to with either of these cams? Thanks again.

I've been reading about the 503 a little lately too. That also seems like an option. Does anyone know the powerbands of the 305/503, and even the hotcam? I'm leaning heavily towards the comp cams but still don't want to spin the engine much past 6k (for longevity reasons as it's my dd).

One more thing, when saying that the hc and 305 are close in power, are you guys talking about using 1.6's on the 305?

I ran a CC305 in my full weight/stock bottom end/stock suspension '93 Z. With mildly ported heads/58 MM t-body and MAC headers, I went 12.0 @ 112 MPH...Through an A4/3800 stall and 4.10 gears.

Theyre both going to perform pretty similar. I'd say go with the cc305 if youre really trying to optimize your set up. I'd bet peak numbers would be similar, but the cc305 would make a bit more power across the board.

If its just a passive hobby, and a street car that you want more umph out of, you won't be disappointed with the hotcam.

Honestly, if you are going to spring the extra money for the cc305, I'd step it up one notch and go with the cc503. Cost will be the same and its a cam thats gotten great reviews from everyone whos run it. Its definately up there for one of the most popular grinds to use on stock heads.

You guys with the 305, what are your powerbands? Also, are you guys saying the 305 WITH 1.6 rockers? One more thing, 305 on a 114 or a 112?? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to pick the right cam for my car the first time. All I'm really looking is for is 20+rwhp, not all out power rev to the moon cam.

Go with the cc503. You only want to have to do a cam swap once.

I shifted mine at 6000 RPM's with the CC305. Yes, it's on a 114 LSA. I was running 1.6 rockers with mibne.
