Hot Cam Questions

Ok, I got a Lt4 Hotcam, with the springs and retainers. I want to throw it in my basicly stock 94.
The question is I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible. but I'd rather spend an extra $150 then do something that will cause problems down the road.
Is it ok to go with the comp cams pro magnum 1.6 rockers?

Promagnum rockers are a very good rocker arm. Thats what i'm running, and am very happy with them. If your car doesn't have headers on it, i would at least do those first.

Re: Hot Cam Questions

As long as they are self allinging rockers or you will need guide plates and hardened push rods. The Pro Mags are nice (I have used both crane and Comp) but they are a bit more work with the valve covers because of the bigger trunions.

Yes they fit, the valve covers just take alittle modification which i believe has to be done with any roller rocker.

Re: Hot Cam Questions

I didn't have to touch my valve covers and I'm running the GM 1.6 roller rockers that cam with the HOTCAM kit. There's nothing wrong with running the rockers in the kit, but if you don't have the whole kit then you might as well get NSA RR's and guide plates.

Re: Hot Cam Questions

I've got promags on my engine with the hotcam. I got them because I wanted to use 7/16" studs instead of the 3/8' ones that are required with the rockers that come with the hotcam kit.
I like them, I had to use guideplates and trickflow pushrods though.
