Hot cam question?

So I am currently working on rebuilding my 1995 Z28 and I have ordered a gm lt4 hot cam with .492 intake and exhaust lift . I was wondering if i will need new valve springs to accomadate for the lift? the part number from summit racing is NAL-24502586. thanks

Go for the LT4 springs. They're dirt cheap and will get the job done.

I hate people who do this, but, you should have gotten the "Hot Cam Kit". Comes with the cam, springs, retainers, etc.

He's only running .492 lift, he'll be fine.

I have been running the same cam, same springs, same lift for 10,000 miles so far and the car sees 6000rpms everytime I drive it.

I have heard about concerns when using the LT4 springs with 1.6 rockers and running .525 lift, but even then I dont think its much of an issue. I have been on this board for a good 7 or so years and cant remember any first hand complaints off the top of my head. There have been a lot more posts warning of possible issues than there have been reporting issues.
