HOT CAM excellant compromise for driveability and performance

I have a '94 Z-28 six spd. I have just installed the Hot Cam kit. My car has SLP 1.75" headers and PCM tuned by Brian Herta PCMFORLESS. The driveability is excellant. I notice a very slight lope at idle. In first or second gear below 1300rpm a slight cam surge can be detected at steady speed no-load. Under load or accelerating there is no bucking from 1200rpm up. You can cruise in sixth at low rpm without cam surge. The wide open performance feels like the stock cam with good low end torque until you hit 4000rpm then there is a noticeable increase in power vs. stock cam all the way up to 6000rpm. This is exactly what I was looking for in my application. More power can be achieved with longer duration cams but the Hot Cam provides a nice compromise between driveability and performance.

i have the hot cam with hooker coated shorty's with a full 3" hooker aerochamber cat back, minus cats, and i have large cam lope at idle. it might be that way due to the lack of a quality tune, but i ide around 800rpm in park when the car gets warmed up. i do agree that its driveability is excellent.

The PCM software has my idle increased to 950rpm, at that speed the lope is very slight. I do not know what other parameters Brian has changed..timing etc.
