i meant use your money wisely you can get cai for 240 or 150 depending on where you go
they are all almost identical so don't pay too much

Ok now i am confused, SLP says theres will increase hp up to 20, and then you have several different K&N CAI's, you got the FIPK and a few others but i searched for my year camaro and the FIPK comes up so what do you think is better the SLP version or the K&N FIPK?

Well....I have the FIPK, it is great as i said. I would deffinately say that they work well, as for slp, i am not a big fan of their stuff....so i would probably go for the K&N just b/c of that; but i would guess that you would see better gains from the K&N as well.

you could easily make your own CAI if you got the right type of bendable tube (insulation/air flow type), a k&N filter and some clamps

i have the kit from lingenfelter just cause i like the smooth flat look, but it seemed kinda over priced, but there was a definete dif from a roll

To me, it almost felt as if it was a whole new car. It seemed so much quicker it was amazing. That won't last too long though. Eventually you will get used to it and then you will start begging for more HP. That is what I did.

Yes that's called the mod bug. =) We all get it sooner or later.

I bought the K&N FIPK about two years ago when I first came to thsi site, off the main page was an internet coupon code for carparts.com for 33% off @ carparts.com, and I got a brand new CAI for $140. Doubt you'll find that deal again though. You might be able to pick one up used on the board here. Just keep your eyes open for deals here and there, I tend to score some amazing buys that way. =)

I'm making a CAI right now....just get some 4in PVC, and the largest K&N filter you can get your grubby hands on. I found one that looks to be about 12in's long, and has a pretty damn large diameter. It can take some faness to get the 4in pvc to fit without hitting the hood, but I imagine with the larger filter, and huge consistantly sized piping, it flows more than a K&n FIPK...but I have no way of knowing...

the filter i got was probably 8 inches or so, and isnt there some sort of flexable heating/cooling duct u could use instead of PVC?

and the extra size probably wont help that much, i mean lets say stock is X cfm, k&n kit is X+200 cfm (made up obviously), ur kit is X+300 cfm but your engine only creates a vaccum for X+150 cfm you are just have unneeded size

then again we all have un-needed gas wasting power, so go for it
