CAI
Cutout
CAI to allow the engine to breathe more air in.
Cutout to allow the engine to dispel more exhaust.
That should make a large difference.
After reading alot of posts on the message board alot of people either say CAI does relatively nothing, and that cut out makes no difference, are these claims true? How much hp woudl a cut out give you? and i have heard alot about home made ram air kits how well do they work?

Thanks, i just dont see why people agree... some people swear by a cut out while other love the cai, and alot of people say that either one is innefective at different times on this forum...kinda confusing
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and I gave you mine. =) The only scientific proof you'd have is a dyno sheet.
However..cutout is very loud and probably illegal.
CAI is very legal, and no noise changes. Besides, the cutout allows you to dispel more exhaust, however what if you are using 100% efficiency of your stock intake system (which you would be in upper rpms). The stock air intake chokes the LT1 at higher RPMs, so putting a cutout on a car with a stock air intake would not help it much.

well, you can change your horsepower to the ground with a set of slicks or drag radials.
Power doesn't matter if you can't put it to the pavement.
get some slicks, enjoy new found traction and consistant ET's
