Hose coming from below going to intake?

What is this? I just got a ram air box and this hose won't stay connected. My car feels slow as **** recently and I can't figure out why. The ram air hood looks like a pretty bad restriction, but not that bad.

I connect the hose and it just slips off after 5 seconds. I haven't had a chance to get a hose clamp. Just wondering about the power thing. My car feels choked compared to what it used to feel like.

My brothers stock formula has better topend than I do.

Sounds like the fresh air hose going to the Air Pump. This is the pump that provides air to the exhaust manifold tubes for emisions.
I don't think this is causing your power problems.

Do you mean the 3/4" nipple on the driver's side/back of the box? If so, its the AIR pump air feed line, as noted in the post above. Having that loose means you are pulling unfiltered air into the engine, and the air will be hot, since its from the engine compartment.

There are ways to improve the Ram Air setup....

The cut out baffles on the hood scoop are not the best idea for a street driven car that sees rain. But if you take about 1/2" off the bottom of the front baffle, and an inch or so off the rear baffle, it will still keep water out, and improve flow.
