Hooker LT's with removable primary...

Is this an old style header or is that how all of them come? Im about to pick up a set of these from a guy on the board. They look to be in fairly decent condition but they have that removeable primary. What is it for, to clear the steering knuckle??? Are they known for leaking? How is the fit???

Any input is appreciated! Thanks.

All of them came like that as far as i know, you need it to get past the steering knuckle. Fit is tight, i used a rubber mallet to tap mine in.

I didnt have any problems with mine leaking, if they are in good shape and the right price go for them

I had my Jet Hot LT's installed about 3 weeks ago. At first the slip tube was leaking, but then it went away. The tube is to get around the steering knuckle thing, I just call it that bar thats in the way. There is actaully a plastic peice around the knuckle and it melted down a bit, but everything seems to be good now.
