Hooker LTs and duals done

I finally got the Hooker LT's and true duals done. Holy **** it is loud but very sweet. I have a question though. The plactic boot that goes around the steering can that be removed. The shop said it proably could as long as I keep it greased. The dang plastic is already melting. I also already burned a wire which I have no Idea where it goes. If I cant find out I will take a picture and show it to you guys since I know someone on here will. But overall it is awesome. The car feels like a beast.

There is a clearance issue but nothing like I thought espically for a convertiable. I will take pictures when I can. And yes the headers are coated but the steering bot is touching the headers so it is causing it to melt. They still get very hot.

I took both the plastic covers off the steering linkage, I knew they would not survive the LTs.
Did you do the LT install or did you have a shop do it? Lots of wires to be relocated and extended on a LT install, make sure you get those wires out of the way or you will have problems that will be hard to track down.

well need some more specifics on the wire you burnt? Driver or Passenger side? If the driver side check your coolant sensor temp wire to the temp sensor located just aft of the #1 cyl, I say that because I burnt mine. As for the plastic steering cover, trash it just keep that white lithium spray coated on the moving ujoints on it periodically. Your gonna love your car now dude. I have the JetHot longtubes, 3" ypipe, no cats and open Borla and it's a beast ...happy pony hunting

The wire was the accelerater wire that is on the driver side. I relocated it and it was not burned the whole way threw. It just took off a little of the plastic coating on one side. The car fells a lot better I think mostly due to the 02 sensores. I think they were shot since the car runs a 100 times better now.

The guages I got off ebay. I paid like $60 about a year ago, but now you can get them for like $25. Procarparts was the seller but others sell the exact same ones.

Dude I have the same exact set up as you and I'm also having the same problem with the 02 sensors...well mines just the driver side one. Its pretty much dead and thats causing it to blow a 10 amp fuse in the fuse box which could be causing the fans to run which could be causing the car to run really rich which might be why the car is loading up....you like my run on sentence.... Hopefully your not having as many problems with your car as I am with mine. Oh and the wires you speek of that need to be rerouted I know exactly what you mean. Theres two on the passenger side that have to be rourouted because they're really close to the primaries. Although they do have the heatshield covers around them so I dont know if those would stand up to the heat or not...so far so good.

Just use your stock ones and cut and splice them to the length that you want. That way your not risking getting ones that are way too short.
Now someone answer my question...haha.

Got 1 question for ya. I want to switch over to true duals(x pipe and 2 dynomax bullets) and to keep costs down for now Im just going to dump it near the rear axle. Its that the way yours is? Does the car vibrate from being right underneath? Is it pretty loud inside the car? thanx!
