Arrow Hooker/Jet-hot Y-pipe users inside please...

I need to install my y-pipe and I took it to a shop which told me they could install it. (they did all the exhaust work for me before) And after I drove all the way there they tell me they can't do it anymore....

So anyway, I'm not sure I'll be able to find someone locally to weld the two pieces to the collector and I was wondering if anyone here drove with them clamped for a longer period of time?
Thanks.

Are you trying to get your y-pipe weld to the collector...why?

The instructions say you're supposed to use the clamps temporarily until you can weld the pieces together.

I just drove mine open headers to the exhaust shop

I'm sure if you drive around for a little while with it clamped it should be OK.

That Jet-Hot coating is tough stuff to weld through.

Actually, the biggest problem I have is that my current exhaust has the enlarged end on the I-pipe. (if I were to take off the bent pipe that hooks up to the stock cat)
So I can't even hook up the damn thing because it's enlarged on both sides....

Drove it to the exhaust shop with open headers today as well. They changed their mind about doing it in a matter of 4 hours. Weird.
