Hooker heads, and what exhaust questions.
Hooker heads, and what exhaust questions.
I want to get some hooker super comp headers, and I want True Duals, my questions are-
1.how hard are the super comps to install in a 94 camaro
2. how much do they drag
3. anything special I should know
4.What exhausts to use on the true duals
5. is an x pipe really needed.
6. will I need a tune?
7.any question I should of asked and forgot.
8.what cat? Or no cat at all?
9. What lights may come on, after install, and how to remove (If you need to do it some way other then tuneing like a part) if its a tune don't worry about anwsering this question.
I want good sound, but I want good flow to. I want it to sound kinda low at lower rpm but when I get into it id like it to be fairly lound. I also have an A4
Thanks guys.
PS, ment hooker headers as title oops.

Re: Hooker heads, and what exhaust questions.
1. if you have a lift its not bad at all. if your doing it on the ground, it can be difficult.
2. from what ive seen ground clearance with the hookers are pretty good.
3. get percey dead soft alum. gaskets and locking header bolts.
4. i like the sound of sweet thunder mufflers and single chamber flowmasters.
5. x pipe would be your best bet.
6. i would recommend a tune after the install due to the fact you will be running really rich.
7. i think u pretty much covered it.
8. if you can get away w/ no cats then go that route.
9. if you get a tune, no lights should come on. and if they do get them scanned and fix the problem.

Re: Hooker heads, and what exhaust questions.
1.how hard are the super comps to install in a 94 camaro ..they suck
2. how much do they drag ..not much
3. anything special I should know ..the different bolts take differnet angles and such, so they suck. oh and the factory manifold bolts are in there good so use pb blaster or something to loosen them up.
4.What exhausts to use on the true duals ..do like a 2.5" or 3" x pipe with bullets or real mufflers, just realize it'll be loud.
5. is an x pipe really needed..no, but it will make more power than straight pipes down low and midrange
6. will I need a tune? probably not
7.any question I should of asked and forgot. should I plan on this taking a while? ..yes
8.what cat? Or no cat at all? if no emissions, no cat. if emissions, get a high flow cat, but it will be kinda hard to install.
9. What lights may come on, after install, and how to remove (If you need to do it some way other then tuneing like a part) if its a tune don't worry about anwsering this question..you will need o2 simulators to keep the engine light off from no cats or get the egr codes deleted.
you'll bang up your knuckles and hate the swap...but it's well worth it and will sound/flow badass!!

Re: Hooker heads, and what exhaust questions.
You may want to look at some Jet-Hot headers... They have pretty much copied hookers but have better ground cleaerence and there coating is far better.... If you have any questions about them let us know and we can help you out...
