hooker headers

Hey guys Im wondering if anyone can help me out, I just bought a set of hooker headers w/y pipe on craigslist for my 97z they were suppose to be for a 97 unfortunately, I got them home and looked up the part number (2060 hkr) on summit it says there for a 93z, the part number I need is (2064hkr). Does anyone know for sure if they'll bolt up I'm assuming if they will they still will not pass the ca, sniffer because the y-pipe eliminates one of the cats. Can anyone help out?

They will bolt up to the motor, but the y-pipe probably won't be compatible with the rest of the exhaust. Unless they had a y-pipe bent up to match the 97 exhaust. And it will definately have different emissions stuff.

Thanks camarobird, your right I took a look under my car yesterday and the y-pipe is different as well as the headers, I think I can make the headers work but I live in Ca. so I'd still have to take them off for the sniff test, that being the case I'd rather just go with long tubes, so looks like I got some headers for sale.....Thanks again.

You will also have a problem with the AIR and EGR connections. 93 is different than all other years, with the AIR connection to the passenger side running through the EGR pipe.

You can make them work, but you will be running a single-cat design rather than the dual-cat.

If you are serious about selling them I'm in the market for some hooker headers. Could you send me some more info, price, and pics?

Injuneer, I just bought an LT1 Crate Engine for my 93 T/A. I've already bought the opti, harness, etc. Does this mean I need to do some modifications to the AIR/EGR system (delete) in order to make this motor work in my car?

Forgot to mention the motor uses the vented opti, so thats why I had to buy the opti, harness, etc.

Thanks Injuneer, hey cboggs5, I am very serious about selling them, I've posted them in the parts for sale sec. I'm asking $250 thats what I paid and I'll split the shipping 50/50 (not sure how much). I just want to get some $ back to put towards headers that I can use. The part# is 2060hkr I'm not sure how to post pics on this site but I can take some and send them to an Email.

Thanks again guys,
E.
