Hooker cat-back?

Im getting a different cat-back and have heard pretty much every kind of cat-back except for the hooker system. Just wondering how loud it is and how good it sounds. thanks.

Hooker is a good cat back but not the best. It is probably one of the best bang for buck cat back tho. Nice sound, not too loud, and decent performance. Pretty good looking too. Was about as loud as the 2otl on my SS.

The Hooker is quiet at idle, almost like a stocker. It does it's talking when you put the foot down. No drone, very little snap, crackle, or pop. At cruise you can talk normally and/or listen to the radio.

Like others have said, best exahust for the money. I've had mine for 3 years and have had no problems except for the tips. If you get the hooker, paint the insides of the tips with high-temp paint to keep them from rusting.

I 2'nd the paint the inside idea. I used "high temp manifold" paint. Still is looking good

Also, if you live where it snows and the highway dept. puts salt on the roads, the outside of the tips will get rust pits too. If you use Mother's Polish on them every other week or so, they will stay shiney.

hooker is definitely the best bang for your buck. i have their catback on my car and it sounds sweet, but it is pretty loud prolly cuz i have headers though. but it's still quiter than most exhaust systems.

i had a flowmaster american thunder 3" single exit and my hooker is louder, especially when i get on it.
i dont think its "quiet" my buds got a 98 ta with straight pipes.
shure its loud but it sounds like a tractor. poping and vibrating allot. ive gotten couple of compliments on it since i put it on 3 months ago

the flowmaster sounded real nice too, didnt pop when it was warm.
the hooker doesent do any popin, unless its real cold
