hooked up battery and car jummped forward

I just got done with hot cam, roller rockers, and new pan seal and when I went to hook up the battery the car jumped forward about a foot, until I disconnected the battery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

i dont quite understand what you're saying by it jumped forward... it obviously wasnt in park or had the ebrake on, do you mean the motor cranked and actually spun the wheels to make the car move a foot or two? I've never had any experience with something like that happening... i'm curious now also and awaiting a good response

check the connections at the back of the starter. maybe two posts are connected in some way. that would cause it to crank when ever there was power in the car.
