I've seen posts explaining how to do it. A "search" may turn up a thread with useful info.

It's been quite a while since I've really chimed in, life goes elsewhere sometimes. Yes, I've done it myself, I personally used a LS1 radiator support that the Lid attaches to. I wanted a factory look. I have a cowl hood from VFN & I just had to do a lil trimming to one of the hood supports but that's hardly noticeable. Basically my lid kinda slips up into the scoop area @ the front of the hood when the hood is closed. Beyond that for me I basically used a couple of cheap hardware store couplers, some wire extensions for the IAT & some time.

I did it on my old 95 Z28. It matched up perfect with my Ultra-Z hood

Been running that setup for a couple years now. I think you might have a hard time fitting it under a stock hood, i did quite a lot of trimming on mine. I would do it again though. Worthwhile performance improvement, and even though my filter probably doesnt have a *perfect* seal its definitely doing its job as ive cleaned the filter twice already. I would recommend using a cowl hood if possible so you dont have to cut so many things up. I dont like the look of cowls though so i did what i did.

I would never hack up my car like that for this mod.
