Hood question
Hood question
I like the looks of the big block hood. But i am thinking about going to ram-air. I dont like the ram-air hood as much as the big block hood. Would the performance increase of the ram-air be better than a "nicer" hood?
It hard to save how much of an acutal "performance" gain u are going to notice from a new hood.
I personnally like the Big Block Hood as well, however neither the cowl or the ram air are functional.
If ur looking for a nice hood for cooling, i personally would recommend a cowl hood. Good for disipating heat.

There is a functional big block hood out there...but its over a grand...can't remember where I found it...
You're going to see losses if you go with any airbox kit that comes with a ram air hood because of heated incoming air from the hot engine...

www.rksport.com I believe they have a big block hood that can be cut open. Plus, you'll save about 35 lbs over the stock hood.
The hood is $595...

You can make it functional by grinding out the opening which they make strong enough.
Spend $150-$200 on paint.
For $800 max, you lightened up the front end by 35 lbs and have a functional big block hood.
