Homemade CAI???

does anyone here have some instructions or a website to look at to get an idea on how to make a CAI for my 95 z28? I am thinking about getting a CAI, and have heard that making a homemade one is about as good as a store-bought one but loads cheaper. Thanx
Jeff

That is not a good "custom" CAI. The kind you need would require 3 inch pvc piping, 90 degree elbow, cone air filter, and gloss black spray paint. I forgot the website that has details about it, but i made mine and its pretty easy. I also made the ram air scoop in the bottom where the filter lies. All this for $50 and i saw VERY GOOD gains

I would imagine it to be a real pita to make, Even though ive read here for years about guys makin them. Id save up the hundred 170 bucks or so and get a good moroso system

This is really simple, anyone with even very basic mechanical skills can do this. I built mine out of 4" PVC and built a homemade RAM air scoop for it as well. It probably took about 1 hour to built it (because I had to bend the PVC pipe to get the 4" to fit properly on the radiator shroud by heating it) and then I sealed it with RTV and left it to dry overnight before installing it. I only spent about $70 total for everything, so it is definitely worth instead of paying $200 for something that just looks fancier.

Im not try to prove anything a$$. Im not "nig rigging it". My custom CAI looks awseme, and others agree. Stop being an a$$, and mine is a proven gain because i had it dynoed before and after

sweet bro...and you even dynoed it...wow...did you see that 1-3 increase in HP (if even the CIA accounted for it) All im saying is it is a sure fact that performance mods from performance companies deliver results...when you start foolin around with weird **** you end up breaking LT1's (not in this cai case but in general)...chill out hombre.

Where the F*ck did you come from troll. No, it wasnt a 1-3 gain. I gained 16rwhp. Stop smack talking, its not wanted here. How could you break an lt1 with a custom CAI, ANSWER ME THIS!!!!!!!. You are retarted . Half the people on this board have custom CAI. Get out of here and go to another board.

oh, your so funny. You really should leave, how old are you? You got owned, and proved you wrong, and now your mad. Custom CAI always average about the same gain as the other ones if made well. Like i said, mine looks awseme. I primed it sanded it, and painted gloss black. It looks better than most of the other ones(i.e K&N FIPK, Moroso).
