Holley 52 tb or BBk????

iam looking at a 52 mm tb to match the stock 52 mm tb bores on the intake, which one is the one to get? the holley looks a hell of alot better than bbk, looking and trying to gain from tb and bbk pulley 8-10 rwhp or so is that possible? Also if anyone has either one some pictures and info on how easy to install i would think it would be fairly easy also air foil i have one on my stock one our both of these tb built in air foils??? thanks alot looking at getting one in the next week so reply would be great.

I had a holley until it got stolen out of the back of my car...I am doing what a lot of people have told me to do, which is get it ported to a 52mm. I heard you can get it done for under half what a new one costs. I was quoted like $120. That is my advice and if you want it polished you can do that for looks and put a plate on it http://www.sps1.com/images/TB.JPG The holley is cool when it is off, but then it's really just a red plate!!

I'm pretty sure the BBK and the Edlebrock are the same throttle body. When I had problems with my Holley 58mm TB, I borrowed a BBK from a buddy, and it had a cover plate that said "BBK/Edelbrock".

The Holley looks great, but I had problems with excessive gaps around the blades, and a sloppy "stop" lever on the quadrent that allowed the point at which it closed to vary, messing with the TPS voltage. I just finished hand fitting the blades and pinning the stop lever to the quadrent. Shouldn't have to do that on a $400 component.

I had a BBK and it whistled like a blower... Rather than doing the trimming necessary to correct the problem I sold it to a buddy who liked the sound and I bought a TPIS unit.

I would not expect any sort of power increase on a lightly modded vehicle. I cannot quantify any power gains with mine and I bought it a few years back, long before the stroker.
