Holes on manifolds?
Holes on manifolds?
What are the holes on the top of the exhaust manifolds for...on the right side it has a tube running to something. On the left its open. Is it supposed to be like that. On my way home today my car started sounding like a tractor and the sound seemed to be coming from that side. cars in sig....thanks in advance
Re: Holes on manifolds?
They are part of your AIR system. Injects air into the catalytic converters during start up.
No part of them should be open... the two rubber hoses on them connect two a pipe that runs around the bottom of the car that is supplied directly by the AIR pump.
Here's pics of a disassembled system for reference
