Holes in block above oil filter...

Im having a MAJOR oil leak. I got under the car to take a look and it seems to be coming from the drivers side and the rear of the block. I took off the oil filter and noticed that there are a couple holes that are threaded that are not plugged. Both are on the side of the block. One is right above the filter(not the on one the "filter housing" thats plugged) And the other is between plugs 6 and 8.

When you look at the headers it looks as if oil is spraying or dripping right out of these areas.

I took the inspection cover and the flywheel is dry as a bone. I took a rag a rubbed around the rear main and it was dry too....

don't know if this will help you but my friend had a neon that was spitting out oil. It turned out that a freeze plug had blown out.

I checked the oil pressure unit and it doesnt feel like its in as far as the one is this pic. Also it doesn have a second fitting like the one that pic. The black sensor part is connected right to the fitting that goes in the block. Also the ultra copper that was used for it and the intake is peeling off a little bit and is oily.

How tight does that fitting have to be? Am I going to have to take the intake off to get it out and put it back in.

The oil pressure sending unit only has to be tight enough to where it does not leak. You can remove it without taking anything off. You will need a special socket for it, though.

On the block VIN pic, the hole without the plug is a blind mounting hole. It goes nowhere. The hole with the plug is to an oil galley and is where the oil pressure sensor is located on a 1993.

Any auto parts store should have the socket. It is a 1&1/16" socket with special rounded sides. A deep enough 12 point regular socket should work, but not a 6 point socket.
