hit the dyno yesterday

got my car on the dyno yesterday, it put down 271rwhp and 300tq. Mods are pacesetter longtube headers, magnaflow exhaust, CAI, air foil and TB Bypass. I was pretty happy with the result, what should i expect to gain with a cutout?

Are you A4 or M6, either way not too bad of numbers. Forget the cutout I've seen some gain from it some lose HP from it. PCM Tune, 1.6 RR's, E-WP, and ASP 23% UD Pulley should get your 300rwhp mark. Then its cam, heads and juice time

The more power you are making at the motor the more you stand to gain from a cutout.

Eh, idono, I've seen cam+bolt on guys lose from it and gain from it. It seems to vary from engine to engine. I'd spend money on 'for sure' gains like rockers, tune, E-WP, stuff like that, rather than $40 for a cutout and $50 for it to be welded in, thats almost a E-WP.

Each to his own

Just speaking from experience, I know my setup worked, and I gained 1 mph consistently with it

Re: hit the dyno yesterday

Yea, thats a good gain, but on a relatively stock A4 LT1, I see the money better invested in more worth while mods. Its perhaps like a TB swap, some see 10rwhp some lose 10rwhp, but on a stock car there are better mods to be done.

I would do a mail order tune next, that will bump your numbers up a bit.

Re: hit the dyno yesterday

Those #'s are just about right on for an auto. The 1.6RR's and springs will wake it up too. I also had headers, catback and CAI and gained almost 2 mph in the 1/4 from the 1.6 RR's. I noticed it right away.

Re: hit the dyno yesterday

I say do a few more minor mods then get the tune. 1.6 rockers would be a great addition to what you've got now.
