Highest HP parts for $1,500?

I have about $1,500 to spend on parts for my '96 Z. I was thinking of buying a SLP LM (that's a must), bbk 52mm TB, and a SLP cold air kit. That's about $900 right there. I want some other ideas on what to buy that wont exceed $1,500. Thanks.

Oh yeah, and no nitrous.

I agree...TB is a waste of money unless your putting 400+hp to the ground in my opinion...

if you really want to feel a differnce get a torque converter it can reduce your 1/4 times by .5 seconds get a new tranny filter, deep pan,and a tranny cooler this is a must if getting a tc. i would get a 3400 stall but a least a 2800 no lower. you will need to reprogram the computer too.

Torque converters will drop your 1/4 mile times good, and they'll also drop your gas mileage which for someone like myself would be bad because mine is a daily driver...however if you want a sweet feel while you're driving around TC is a good investment...

That really good if he only lost 2mpg after install...I know a guy with a 3000 he lost 2mpg, the only guy I know with a 3600 lost like 3 or 4, he gets about 12 or so mpg in the city now.

If your major concern is MPG, then you shouldn't modify your car with any parts.

MPG is of no importance seeing as you will be horsing around after you mod your car. Pedal to the metal = bad MPG no matter what mods you have.

Thats true for the most part, but with a catback and CAI my friends mileage actually improved in normal driving conditions...not a lot...but about 1 mpg or so...if you're getting on it, it'll drink gas no matter what you have done...5.7L tend to do that...

K&N fipk cai, 3:73 gears, headers, exhaust. Then some dr's to get all that new hp to the ground. Then down the line you are set up to swap out the heads and cam along with a 52 mm tb. Also do the tb bypass free mod. I think you will be very happy with the outcome.

CAI, Headers, cutout, 3.73s, Hotcam kit, tuning, and nitto's, that's if you can install them yourself or with a friend... If not, then leave out the hotcam kit, tuning, and save up for some nittos later...
