high rpm lost spark. bad opti?

well I was showing off a little yesterday, car was cold right out of garage.I was doing a 1st gear burn out untill enging came to rev limiter about 6000 rpm and as i went to shift the car died. How embarassing! Well i have no spark to plugs. Any thing ealse I can check before doing my first opti? car has 40,000 miles taylor otvc wires, reprogrammed ecm which raised max rpm some.

i also looked in vave cover while cranking and the rockers are moving. thanks for any help!

first of all, you should never run a cold engine hard. Oil is still very thick and cant flow very easily. Basically, you are starving some part of your motor for oil at that high of a RPM. Enough guilt trip .

This may be an opti. Since your rocker are moving you can rule out timing chain. So all that is left to check is about a million things...

Can you hear the fuel pump prime? 40K miles on car or wires? I am leaning towards coil or opti sorry. i have read on a few other boards of opti's going out all together at high rpm, usually above 5,5K.

I had a chance to check coil is working but no spark out of opti. I can hear sparks when I hook wire to the opti but can not see any. fuel pump is working. I'm pretty sure something in opti came apart well I,m not near a lift so in the driveway will have to do at least the weather is great!

motor and opti 40k. plugs wires 1k miles
