High Mileage Oil Change

My car has 150k on it, and it likes high mileage oil. It will smoke slightly at WOT if I don't use it. So I was wondering what was better, buying high mileage oil, or regular oil and then adding high mileage additive. Buying the special oil is more expensive than buying regular oil and the additive.

I don't really care about price too much, but I was wondering if any one thought there was a difference between the two, and which one was better?

If you get the same results for both then go for the cheaper one.

Have you Seafoamed your car lately?

You're better off not using those high mileage additives, just stick with a good oil. You could also try out a 10w40 and see if that helps too. The high mileage 10w30 oils are almost 10w40s anyway. Redline 10w40 or Amsoil 10w40 are both very stable oils which would work very well.
